Mark Joggerst
Mark Joggerst (born March 20, 1971 in Offenburg ) is a German film composer , arranger and pianist . His studio is in Cologne.
Life
Mark Joggerst grew up in Schutterwald (Baden-Württemberg). He discovered the piano as his instrument early on. In 1992 he moved to Cologne, where he studied piano with Frank Wunsch and John Taylor at the Hochschule für Musik . He then received a DAAD scholarship and studied composition and arrangement at Berklee College of Music in Boston / USA a. a. with John Bavicchi, Laszlo Gardony and Steve Hunt. After his return, he founded the Cologne-based production company Neon Media Productions GmbH and has been working as a composer for film music ever since.
Together with the German producer Ralf Kemper, Joggerst also regularly writes music for TV commercials. The composition "The Pursuit of Perfection", which was used for the advertising campaign for the Lexus car brand, met with a wide positive response and was posted, commented, accessed and covered on forums and blogs such as YouTube.
In addition to his compositional activity, Joggerst also appears as an arranger for well-known artists from the jazz and pop fields . Mark Joggerst gained international attention when he realized the extensive music and film production "Rising Above The Blues" together with Ralf Kemper, the producer Donna Hall and the filmmaker Yoon-Ha Chang. As part of the portrait of the American jazz singer Jimmy Scott , recordings with Joe Pesci , Monica Mancini , Renee Olstead and Madeleine Peyroux were made. Part of the project were also the recordings for “Everytime we say goodbye” with Arturo Sandoval and Kenny Barron . The title is part of the Arturo Sandoval album "A Time for Love", which was awarded at the 11th Latin Grammy Awards.
