Marko Šakić (born April 13, 1994 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been playing for the second team of the Löwen Frankfurt in the fifth class Hessenliga since the end of 2017 .
Career
Marko Šakić began his career as an ice hockey player in the Austrian U-20 league at Klagenfurt AC . 2013 he moved to his native Zagreb to KHL Medveščak Zagreb . There he was mainly used in the Croatian Ice Hockey League , but also played in the Continental Hockey League . In 2015 he temporarily moved to Germany to the EHC Zweibrücken , for which he only played once in the Regionalliga Südwest . In December 2015, he moved to HK Slavija Ljubljana , for whom he played in both the Inter-National League and the Slovenian ice hockey league . In 2016 he went back to Medveščak and played there in the Slovenian and Croatian leagues. In 2017 he moved to Germany again, where he first played for EC Lauterbach in the Regionalliga West and then from the end of 2017 for the second team of the Löwen Frankfurt in the Hessenliga.
International
For Croatia , Šakić took part in the division II tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2010 and 2012 when he was captain of his team, as well as the Division I tournaments of the U20 World Championships in 2011 , 2012 and 2013 and Division II of the U20s World Cup 2014 .
In the men's field, he was in his country's squad at the Division II tournament of the 2013 World Cup when he and his team were promoted to Division I. There he played at the World Championships in 2014 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
