Martin Legarra Tellechea

Martin Legarra Tellechea OAR (born January 25, 1910 in Murguindueta , † June 15, 1985 ) was a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Santiago de Veraguas .

Life

Martin Legarra Tellechea joined the order of the Augustinian recollects and was ordained a priest on March 19, 1933 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 6, 1963 as the first prelate of the territorial prelature of Bocas del Toro, established a year earlier . On March 18, 1965, he was appointed titular bishop of Luperciana . The Apostolic Nuncio in Panama , Antonino Pinci , donated him episcopal ordination on June 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Tomás Alberto Clavel Méndez , Archbishop of Panama , and the Vicar Apostolic of Darién , Jesús Serrano Pastor CMF .

He attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On April 3, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him. to the Bishop of Santiago de Veraguas .

On February 15, 1975, the Pope accepted his early resignation.
