Martin Haidinger
Martin Haidinger (born August 6, 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian historian , book author , journalist and science editor .
Life
Martin Haidinger studied history at the University of Vienna . Since 1990 he has worked as a journalist for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF-Radio) (journals and news of the current service, Wissen Aktuell, Dimensions, Journal Panorama, Austria 1 Extra: Zeitsprung, Radiocolg) and Deutschlandradio and Deutschlandfunk ( background politics, DLF- Magazine) as well as for newspapers and magazines. From 2012 to 2014 he was the presenter of the TV discussion program “Austria's Universities” on BR-Alpha . Since January 2014 he has been designing programs as part of the Ö1 science series Salzburg Night Studio . Since August 1, 2017, he has also been the editor of this series.
From 2011 to 2015, Haidinger played the cabaret fictional character “Herr Martin”, the waiter in Café Sonntag on Ö1 . He is engaged as a literary interpreter, novelist and cabaret artist in TV programs (Alles TV, Rapparazzi, De Luca) and on stages at home and abroad.
Haidinger holds lectureships for media studies at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz and at the Catholic Media Academy in Vienna.
Act
Haidinger deals intensively with the couleur studenthood and wrote the satirical student novel Unter Brüdern . He is himself an original philistine of the Borussia Wien student association in the secondary school cartel association .
His book From the guillotine to lethal injection. Facts cases misjudgments. The story of the death penalty was classified as "daring" in the FAZ on October 5, 2007. The book was recommended by Amnesty International . The work Our Hitler. The Austrians and their compatriot , which he published together with Günther Steinbach in May 2009, became an Austrian bestseller.
Since December 2010 his interpretation of the last days of mankind by Karl Kraus has been available as a double CD from the ORF regional studio in Vienna.
After a two-volume history of Austria (2016 + 2018), in 2019 he presented the first biography of the NS and CIC agent Wilhelm Höttl , who was of great importance for the history of the Holocaust and the Cold War.
