Martin Schwanholz (born June 19, 1960 in Stirpe ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Martin Schwanholz was born and raised in Stirpe, Bohmte municipality , in the Osnabrück district . After completing secondary school , Schwanholz first completed an apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade . This was followed by activities in business, most recently in a managerial position in the sales department of a medium-sized company. Schwanholz acquired his university entrance qualification as a part-time job and completed a degree in economics and social sciences in Osnabrück , which he completed with a degree in social economics . After a specialization at the Free University of Amsterdam carried his promotion to Doctor of Economics and Social Sciences.

From 1997 to 2002 Martin Schwanholz worked as a lecturer and research assistant for political science and European studies at the University of Osnabrück . Since 1999 he has also been a lecturer for economics and social sciences at the Institute for Public Management at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück .

MP

From 2002 to 2013 Schwanholz was a member of the German Bundestag . In 2002 and 2005 he won the direct mandate for the constituency of Osnabrück Stadt . The constituency includes the city of Osnabrück as well as Belm , Georgsmarienhütte , Hagen , Hasbergen and Wallenhorst . In 2009 he moved into the German Bundestag for the third time via the state list of the SPD Lower Saxony. In addition to the constituency of Osnabrück Stadt , he was most recently responsible for the constituencies of Osnabrück Land and Mittelems .

From 2012 Martin Schwanholz was a full member of the Committee for Economics and Technology of the German Bundestag and a deputy member of the Committee for European Union Affairs . For the SPD parliamentary group he was there as rapporteur responsible for the subject of Europe.

From 2002 to 2012, Martin Schwanholz was a full member of the Committee for European Union Affairs . Most recently he worked there as a reporter on the subjects of economic and innovation policy, energy policy, research, information society / telecommunications, climate policy, environmental protection and reactor safety.

Martin Schwanholz was also a member of the Democracy and Energy working groups of the SPD parliamentary group . He was a deputy member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe .

Schwanholz was involved in the German-French parliamentary group , the German-Dutch parliamentary group and the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag . He is one of the members of the Berlin Network and is the publisher of the Berlin Republic .

Volunteering

Martin Schwanholz u. a. active for the Europa-Union Deutschland , the cooperation center university trade unions, the Ethiopia Aid, the Felix-Nussbaum-Gesellschaft.

Martin Schwanholz is a member of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IG BCE), Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), the German Association for Political Science , VfL Osnabrück and Raspo Osnabrück , the Alumni Social Sciences University of Osnabrück eV and in many other sporting, political and committed to social organizations.
