Marvin Boadu

Marvin Boadu (born April 18, 1989 in Reinbek ) is a German basketball player on the construction position.

career

Boadu was born in Reinbek near Hamburg , he comes from an American father with Ghanaian roots. From 1992 to the end of 1999 Boadu grew up in the United States , then returned to Germany, where he played in the youth team of BC Hamburg and made it into the extended German national team in the U16 age group. Between 2005 and 2008 he lived again in the USA and played basketball at the John F. Kennedy High School in Richmond ( California ).

In the 2008/09 season, the 1.93 meter tall Boadu played for the Hamburg club Bramfelder SV in the first regional league and moved within the league to SC Rist Wedel in December 2008 , with whom he won the championship title in spring 2009 and thus promotion made it into the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He left Wedel after the season and from then on played at SC Rasta Vechta in the ProB until 2012 . In the 2011/12 season he was ProB runner-up with the Lower Saxony ProB team. In 2012/13 he ran again for Wedel (also ProB).

For the 2013/14 season, Boadu moved to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA and only joined the BBC Magdeburg this season  and, from January 2014, the Oettinger Rockets . In the 2014/15 season he initially played again in Wedel, but after a short time he separated from the team, briefly played for VfL Stade  in the regional league and then joined the Hertener Löwen  in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB. In January 2015, Boadu was banned by the Anti-Doping Commission of the German Basketball Federation until May 2015 after an inadmissible level of tetrahydrocannabinol was discovered in a doping test .

In the 2015/16 season he played for Citybasket Recklinghausen in the ProB, in November 2015 there was a separation. In July 2020, regional league team VfL Stade announced their commitment.

Others

Boadu's older brother Aaron was part of the football team of the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in 2010 , which won the German Bowl and later played for the Ostseestädter.
