Marvin Degon (born July 20, 1983 in Worcester , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player .

Career

Degon began his career in 2002 in the team at the University of Massachusetts Amherst , with which he was active in the US college league Hockey East . In the 2003/04 season, the defensive player was able to reach the final game of the championship with his team, but lost there against the ice hockey team of the University of Maine . In his senior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the right-shooter was the team captain and with 29 scorer points in 33 completed games, the player with the highest points within the team.

Then left Degon the University and signed a contract with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League , the farm team of the New York Rangers . In the two years in which he was on the ice for Hartford, the American was one of the team's best-scoring defenders. He was able to score 46 times in 105 league games. The then 23-year-old spent the 2007/08 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs before joining the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League in the summer of 2008. At Wolfsburg, the defensive player scored 40 points in 52 main round games. In early May 2009 Degon signed a contract with Eisbären Berlin, for which he only played one year. This was followed by a transfer to the league competitor ERC Ingolstadt . At the end of December 2010, he was removed from the Panther squad.
