Marvin Lewis Jones Jr. (* 12. March 1990 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He played at college for the University of California, Berkeley and was selected in the 2012 NFL Draft in the 5th round in 166th place overall by the Cincinnati Bengals . He currently plays for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Jones grew up in Fontana , California . He attended Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga and also played there as a wide receiver .

college

From 2008 to 2011 Jones attended the University of California, Berkeley , where he played for the California Golden Bears in the Pacific-12 Conference .

Jones played sporadically in his rookie season 2012 , he was used in his second season 2013 in every game and came to a total of 712 captured yards and 10 captured touchdowns .

Prior to the 2014 season, Jones injured his right ankle , spent the entire season on the injured reserve list, and could not play a single game.

After the 2015 season , he was released into the Free Agency by the Bengals .

Detroit Lions

On March 9, 2016 Jones signed a five-year contract with the Detroit Lions with a salary of 40 million US dollars . The commitment was made public by the Lions one day after the announced retirement of their star-wide receiver Calvin Johnson .

In the 2016 season he only missed one game due to a thigh problem and was the starting player in all other games.
