Marvin Weinberger (born April 4, 1989 ) is an Austrian football player in the position of a striker who is currently active in the Styrian club SC Kalsdorf in the Middle Regional League .

Career

youth

Weinberger began his active career as a football player in September 1995 in his home town of Laßnitzhöhe in the youth division of the local sports union. In the soccer section of the Sportunion he went through several youth league classes until he decided in 2002 to switch to the youth department of the traditional SK Sturm Graz club . With the Grazers he attended the academy and was mostly used in the respective youth leagues corresponding to the age groups, where he completed his last youth assignments in 2007 for the U-19 team of the SK Sturm.

Club career

He made his debut for the SK Sturm amateurs back in 2006 when he came on as a substitute for Diego Rottensteiner in the 65th minute of the first round of the 2006/07 season in a 0-1 away win over USV Allerheiligen . During this season he came to another ten missions, of which he was only in two games the full length of the game. His first and only goal of the season he scored on April 14, 2007, shortly after his 18th birthday, in a 4-1 away win over FCK-Welzenegg , the amateur team of FC Kärnten.

In the 2007/08 season he did not really make it into the regular formation of the Sturm amateurs, so he was either substituted on or off in 19 games in 27 championship games. From the third to the 29th round he was used in each of the league games and scored five goals. His fairness was to be noted this season, because in all the games he had only received a yellow card and had to leave the field again with a yellow-red card .

The 2008/09 season was almost the same as the previous season. In total, he played again in 27 championship games and, as in the previous year, scored five goals. This season, too, he was often either substituted in or out because of physical fitness problems, but also for tactical reasons. He only played six of the 27 matches.

After a more or less successful start to the 2009/10 season , Weinberger made 13 appearances for the amateurs of the traditional Graz club and scored eight goals. In the league matches this season, he always played long appearances and was on the pitch for most of the games played. Another great personal success was a hat trick that he scored on September 22nd, 2009, in a 6-0 win over FC St. Veit . Furthermore, he played the entire game in the 3-1 win over Bundesliga club Kapfenberger SV in the first round of the 2009/10 ÖFB Cup , but had to be eliminated in the second round against SV Ried with 1: 2. However, he managed the only regular goal (Wurzinger scored an own goal) for the Sturm Amateurs in this game.

For the pros of SK Sturm Graz, he came on for the first time in the last qualifying round for the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League when he came on for Daniel Beichler in the 1-1 draw at home on August 20, 2009 in the 88th minute has been.

Just three days later, Weinberger made his Bundesliga debut when he came into play for Ferdinand Feldhofer in the 86th minute in the 0-1 home defeat against FK Austria Wien ; he also made two appearances in the Europa League.

On December 1, 2009, Marvin Weinberger signed a young professional contract with Sturm Graz until 2012. Around a month and a half later, the young striker showed his qualities when he was involved in all four goals in a 4-0 win in a friendly against FC Gratkorn scored the last three goals himself and prepared the first goal for his teammate Christian Klem .

In his seventh game as a professional footballer, Weinberger scored his first championship goal. On February 12, 2011 he increased in the 59th minute of play in the Styrian derby against Kapfenberger SV to 2-0 for SK Sturm Graz. After another goal and a total of six missions, Weinberger became Austrian soccer champions 2010/11 with Sturm Graz. In the summer of 2012 he moved to the Bundesliga relegated Kapfenberger SV.
