Mataasnakahoy is a Filipino municipality in Batangas Province . It was founded on March 27, 1932 by issuing Executive Order No. 308 by the then Governor General of the Philippines.

Mataasnakahoy is adjacent to Balete and Lipa City . In the west, the Taalsee forms the natural border. The name Mataasnakahoy literally means "big tree". The municipality is 379 meters above sea level and therefore has a relatively cool climate.

Religions
The majority of the inhabitants are Roman Catholic , a smaller number of the inhabitants belong to the religious groups Iglesia ni Cristo , Baptists and Jehovah's Witnesses .
Economy and Infrastructure
The economy is mainly based on agriculture. Coffee , coconuts and bananas are the main crops. The fish production, especially of tilapia and milk fish in fish cultures, is particularly important in the coastal barangays Nangkaan, Lumang Lipa and Kinalaglagan. Pig fattening farms and poultry farms from small "backyard farms" to large farms. In the agribusiness , two feed mills are in operation, namely the MAGICORP and the AICOM.
Several banks including the Mataasnakahoy Rural Bank, Lipa Development Bank and the Savings and Loan Association of Mataasnakahoy are also based in Mataasnakahoy.
Numerous small shops such as department stores and grocery stores can be found in Mataasnakahoy. There is an open food market ( talipapa or tiangges ) in the center of the village , where fresh fish, meat and vegetables are sold every day. Some small textile factories also contribute to the livelihood.

The place can be easily reached via Lipa City with jeepneys , which operate this route between 4 a.m. and 9 p.m. It can also be reached via a national road that runs along the southern boundary of the Basilio Fernando Air Base . Tricycles serve the inner-city traffic and into the main town nearby barangays.
education
There are several secondary schools in Mataasnakahoy , namely the La Purisima Concepcion Academy in Barangay II, Mary Immaculate School in Barangay IV, Mataasnakahoy National High School in Barangay IV, and Bayorbor National High School in Bayorbor.
