Career

Before Mathias Schober moved to FC Schalke 04 in 1990 , he had played for Germania Lenkerbeck, TuS 05 Sinsen and SpVg Marl . For the 1994/95 season he made the leap into the professional squad.

FC Schalke 04

In the 1996/97 season he played his first Bundesliga game when he was substituted on for Jens Lehmann in a 2-0 home defeat against SC Freiburg in the 76th minute . On May 21, 1997 he won the UEFA Cup with Schalke against Inter Milan .

Loan to Hamburg
