Matthew Ladley (born May 17, 1991 in Chicago ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Ladley has been participating in FIS competitions and the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour since 2005 . In the 2006/07 season he won the US Revolution Tour in Copper Mountain and Mount Bachelor on the halfpipe. Also that season he took third place at the Revolution Tour in Copper Mountain in slopestyle and at the US Grand Prix in Tamarack . At the end of the season he started in Lake Placid for the first time in the World Cup and finished 20th. In the 2008-09 season he won the Halfpipe at the Revolution Tour in Copper Mountain. In the halfpipe competition at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Killington and on the quarter pipe at The Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo , he came in second place. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he finished second on the halfpipe at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge . In the further course of the season he finished eighth on the superpipe at the Winter X Games 2011 in Aspen and won the halfpipe competition at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Mammoth . At the Winter X Games Europe 2011 in Tignes , he took fourth place on the halfpipe. In January 2012 he came in third place on the Winter Dew Tour in Killington and in fifth place on the halfpipe at the Winter X Games in Aspen . At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo, he won the silver medal on the halfpipe. He also came fourth in the quarter pipe competition. At the Winter X Games Europe 2012 in Tignes, like last year, he took fourth place in the halfpipe competition. He finished the 2011/12 season in 15th place in the World Snowboard Tour halfpipe rating. At the Winter X Games 2013 in Aspen , he finished ninth on the superpipe. In January 2016, he won the gold medal in the Superpipe competition at the Winter X Games in Aspen . The following month he won the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and FIS World Cup races in Park City in the halfpipe competition and took 18th place on the halfpipe at the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo. At the end of the season he was fourth in the halfpipe competition at the Burton US Open and fifth in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2017 , he won the silver medal.
