Matthias Winckhler

Matthias Winckhler (born March 12, 1990 in Munich ) is a German opera, lieder and concert singer with a baritone voice .

Life

Matthias Winckhler received his first singing lessons from Hartmut Elbert and then studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Andreas Macco, as well as lied and oratorio with Wolfgang Holzmair . He received further musical impulses from Rudolf Piernay , Peter Schreier , Matthias Goerne , Markus Hinterhäuser , Graham Johnson and Manfred Trojahn .

During his studies, Winckhler embodied the Belcore in L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti and the Mozart roles Guglielmo in Così fan tutte , the Count in Le nozze di Figaro and under the direction of Eike Gramss and the musical direction of Josef Wallnig the title role in Don Giovanni . Winckhler has been a member of the Lower Saxony State Opera in Hanover since the 2015/2016 season .

As a concert singer, Winckhler mainly works in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland. He worked with the conductors Helmuth Rilling , Reinhard Goebel , Hans Graf , Jordi Savall , Masaaki Suzuki , Gianandrea Noseda , Jos van Veldhoven , and Günter Jena , as well as with the Camerata Salzburg , the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg , the Vienna Philharmonic , the Hamburg Philharmonic , the Brandenburger Symphoniker , the Bach Collegium Japan , the Nederlandse Bachvereniging and the Leipziger Barockorchester. In June 2014 he made his debut at the Bach Festival in Leipzig with a song matinee . In July 2015 he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival and at the Kissinger Sommer .
