Wolfgang Holzmair (* 1952 in Vöcklabruck , Upper Austria) is an Austrian opera and operetta singer ( baritone ).

Life

Wolfgang Holzmair studied at the Vienna University of Music with Hilde Rössel-Majdan (voice) and Erik Werba (song). After completing his studies, he made a name for himself as a song, concert and oratorio singer. In 1974 he sang the song Stille Liebe by Robert Schumann for Luchino Visconti's film Violence and Passion . Since then he has been successful on all major music stages in the world: in London, Lisbon, Vienna, Salzburg, New York, The Hague, Washington, Salzburg, Graz, Gstaad, Paris and others. a. m. He is accompanied on the piano a. a. by Imogen Cooper , Till Fellner , Russell Ryan , Roger Vignoles and Gérard Wyss .
