Mattias Adelstam (born March 7, 1982 ) is a Swedish football player . The striker was Superettan's top scorer in the 2009 second division season .

Career

Adelstam comes from the youth of the Malmö club BK Olympic , in 1996 he joined Ängelholms FF . When he started as a promoted player in the second division season in 2002 in the Superettan, he was part of the squad, but remained in the league for the entire season without playing. Without his participation, the club rose directly from the table next to bottom. He then left the club and joined the fourth division side Helsingborgs Södra BIS . At the end of the 2004 season he rose with the club in the third division, where he was the victim of a league reform as seventh in the table.

However, Adelstam had convinced and joined the league competitor Bunkeflo IF . Here he played in the first half of the series, when the club settled in the top third of the table. In the summer, however, he left the team on loan and ran up to the end of the season for league rivals IFK Hässleholm . While he missed relegation with this, his main club rose as second in the table in the Superettan.

In early 2007, Adelstam returned to Ängelholms FF and remained in the third division. With 23 goals in 26 games, he made a significant contribution to the fact that at the end of the third division season in 2007, the team was able to advance to the Superettan via the relegation games. Initially only a supplementary player there, he established himself in the regular formation during the second division season in 2008 and was one of the top performers with nine goals this season alongside Pär Hansson , Jakob Augustsson and Emil Salomonsson , who led the promoted to fifth place in the table. In the following season he played all 30 season games and crowned himself with 19 goals this season together with Marcus Ekenberg to top scorer in the second division. So he had attracted higher class attention, in January he moved to Trelleborgs FF in the Allsvenskan , where he signed a three-year contract. At his new club he could not build on his successes. In the course of the 2011 season he lost his regular place and after he had only scored two goals this season, he rose with the club at the side of Peter Abelsson , Kristian Haynes , Marcus Pode and Viktor Noring at the end of the season. In the first half of the season he was again a regular player, in the summer transfer period he moved on August 1 within the Superettan to the Stockholm club Hammarby IF .
