Mauricio Pergelier (born October 23, 1951 in Viña del Mar / Chile ) is a Chilean organist and university professor.

Career

He completed an organ study with the German master Guntram Hecht and played a. a. Works from the Renaissance and Baroque . He then studied music education at the Universidad de Chile in Valparaíso and took master classes at the Goethe Institute and the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Later he began to study Bach cantatas with the Thomas Cantor Hans-Joachim Rotzsch in Leipzig . He also took master classes in Spain on Antonio de Cabezón , as well as the musicians at the court of Charles V (Renaissance and early baroque).

For ten years he was choirmaster of the chamber choir of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso. He was also the founder and choirmaster of the polyphonic episcopal seminary of San Rafael and professor of Gregorian chant and church music history at the Pontificio San Rafael Seminary in Valparaíso and at the San Bernardo Seminary in Santiago de Chile .

Pergelier is the founder of the polyphonic choir at the Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago. For years he was the organist of the Evangelical Church in Valparaíso and the Church "Sacre Coeur" with its Cavaillé-Coll organ in Valparaíso. In Chile he made several radio, television and CD recordings.

Since 1997 he has lived in Klagenfurt , Austria , where he works as a piano and organ teacher in the diocesan conservatory. Until November 2008 he had an obligation as cathedral organist and choirmaster in Gurk Cathedral .

Since November 2008 Pergelier has been employed as organist and choirmaster at the parish church of Völkermarkt .

Concert activity in Europe

Pergelier can look back on many years of concert activity as an organist, harpsichordist and clavichordist, mainly on historical instruments.

In Austria

In the rest of Europe

In Germany , Finland , Italy , Poland , Slovenia , Switzerland , Spain , etc. a. he participated in the Summer Games of Brandenburg , Friedenskirche Potsdam , where he received excellent reviews at concerts. This was followed by his appearance at the International Organ Festival in Grossräschen , Blankensee , Lübeck , Lauthental and Hahnenklee .

He took part in the Festival International del'Orgue Ancien et de la Musique Ancienne, Sion , Switzerland in 1998, 2000 and 2005 on one of the oldest still playable organs ( organ of the Basilique de Valère ), where he received excellent reviews. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the organ festival, some of the pieces were recorded live and are included on this CD.

The concert activities in the field of historical instruments in northern Italy, Friuli, should also be emphasized . Concerts in the Duomo of Cividale del Friuli , Duomo of Gemona , Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta - Fagagna, Parrocchia San Pietro al Natisone, and Parrocchia Madrisio di Fagagna.
