Maximilian Löwenstein

Maximilian Löwenstein (born August 24, 1980 in Brilon , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German dramaturge , film and theater actor .

Life

Maximilian Löwenstein graduated from high school in 1999 ; from 1997 to 1998 he was an exchange student at a high school in Geneseo ( New York , United States ). After completing his military service in the armed forces in Sardinia from 1999 to 2000 , he began to study history and Romance studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Löwenstein broke off his studies in 2002 and went to Salzburg where he studied acting at the Mozarteum until 2006 . Since then he has mainly worked as a theater actor in Munich , Erlangen , Linz and Cologne, among others . Together with the Greek director Theodoros Terzopoulos, he developed the role of Kratos in The Fettered Prometheus (Aeschylus) in 2010 as part of the Promethiad at RUHR.2010 . The production was presented in Elefsina, Istanbul, Essen, Taipei, Kaoshiung and Beijing.

He got his first film role in 2007 in the comedy Kein Bund für's Leben alongside Axel Stein . In 2014 he was in front of the camera in The End of Patience . In the literary film The Diary of Anne Frank , which was filmed in early 2015 and premiered on February 16, 2016 as part of the 66th Berlinale, Löwenstein played Jan Gies , who together with his wife Miep Gies helped the Jews around Anne Frank who went into hiding in the Secret Annex .

From 2012 he was a continuous editor and translator for the Stückemarkt at the Berlin Theatertreffen . From 2012–2013 he trained as a systemic coach. Since 2012 he has worked as a freelance dramaturge a. a. in collaboration with Philip Stemann , Boris von Poser . At the same time he continuously accompanied theater projects with long-term unemployed in Berlin. Maximilian Löwenstein has been acting dramaturge at the Staatstheater Darmstadt since the 2016/17 season and has worked with Bettina Bruinier , Gustav Rueb , Christian Weise, Alexander Nerlich and Katrin Plötner , among others .
