history

In 1996, considerations and plans began to convert the old Bergheim town hall into a modern culture and media center, as there was considerable need for renovation. After an architectural competition within the framework of a planning workshop in 1997, the planning was awarded in 1998 and finally the construction phase between 1999 and 2004. This was accompanied by the political committees with the involvement of citizens and associations . With effect from June 1, 2003, the operating company of Medio.Rhein.Erft was founded as a subsidiary of the district town of Bergheim in the legal form of a GmbH , BM.Cultura. The award was made on the basis of a population survey .
