Merlscheid is a district of the large community Büllingen in the German-speaking Community (DG) in the far east of Belgium . Merlscheid has 64 inhabitants and belongs to the sub-community Manderfeld ; it is located around 2 kilometers north of the village of Manderfeld and 11 kilometers southeast of the main town of Büllingen. In Merlscheid there is the St. Brixius Chapel from the 18th century , a protected cultural monument .
history
Merlscheid was founded in the Franconian expansion period between 800 and 1100 AD. The earliest evidence is the register of the Moselle trips (1538) in the form of Merscheit .
