Michael Andrews (also Mike Andrews ; born November 17, 1967 in San Diego , California ) is an American musician and film music composer .

Life

Michael Andrews was best known for his cover version of the Tears-for-Fears piece " Mad World ", which he produced for the soundtrack of the film Donnie Darko in 2001. The track, recorded together with singer Gary Jules , reached number one in the UK charts in 2003/2004 and was number one Christmas hit in Great Britain .
