Michael Klepsch

Michael Otto Klepsch (* 1955 in Munich ) is a German diplomat and became the first ambassador to Equatorial Guinea in September 2010 .

Life

After graduating from the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium in Freising , Klepsch studied political science , economics and philosophy . This was followed by postgraduate studies in the Spanish language , culture and history of Spain at the University of Granada .

After completing his studies, he joined the Foreign Service . After completing the career examination, he was employed at various missions abroad and at the headquarters of the Foreign Office . Between 1997 and 1998 he worked, among other things, as counselor at the Permanent Mission to the OSCE in Vienna . During a later assignment at the Foreign Office in Berlin, he gave a lecture on the European Parliament in July 2004 at the Science and Politics Foundation .

Most recently he worked at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva , where he also took part in hearings at the UN Human Rights Council based there.

From August 17, 2011, Michael Klepsch was the first German ambassador to Equatorial Guinea after an embassy was set up in the capital Malabo in September 2010. The German ambassador to Cameroon was previously also accredited in Equatorial Guinea . The embassy there is still responsible for legal and consular matters. In August 2014, Rainer Münzel succeeded him as ambassador to Equatorial Guinea.
