Michael "Mickey" Mansell (born August 31, 1973 ) is a Northern Irish darts player .

Career

In his first year with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) he won the Tom Kirby Memorial Trophy and thus got a starting place for the PDC World Championship 2011 . However, he lost in the preliminary round 4-0 to Preston Ridd .

In 2012 he competed for Northern Ireland with Brendan Dolan at the World Cup of Darts . They reached the quarterfinals after beating Denmark . In the quarter-finals, the two lost 4-0 to the Netherlands .

In 2014 he won a game at the World Grand Prix for the first time . Mansell lost 3-1 to Gary Anderson in the round of 16 .

In 2015 Mansell qualified for the third time for the PDC World Championship . He played against Kim Huybrechts in the first round and lost 3-0. In 2015 he also played the World Cup of Darts . As in 2012, he reached the quarter-finals, again against the Netherlands. Dolan lost to Michael van Gerwen , but Mansell was able to defeat Raymond van Barneveld and so it came to a decisive double match. This lost Northern Ireland 4-0.
