Heiner Michael Molsner (born April 23, 1939 in Stuttgart ) is a German writer and journalist .

After an editorial traineeship, he was first a court reporter in Munich , then a journalist in Hamburg and Hanover . He has been working as a freelance writer since 1968. He is a (founding) member of the Association of German Writers and the Syndikat (group of authors).

In the Allgäu he was a councilor for six years. He has lived in the Ruhr area since 2000 - first in Dortmund , now in Duisburg .

Awards

Molsner's crime thrillers were four times on the annual top list of the German Crime Awards. Dead need no apartment (1973), which was based on his script for the Tatort series, was repeated in 1995 among the "Top Ten". In 1998, the Syndicate awarded him the honor of " Gllauser " for his services to German crime literature.

Press

In the May 2000 book report it says: "This man knows how to entertain an audience". The FAZ considers Molsner to be "unusually smart"; his crime novels have "Anglo-Saxon qualities". Felix Huby (Frankfurt literary magazine LISTEN; summer 2000) considers Molsner to be the “best German crime writer”. The Frankfurter Rundschau (1996) finds the author to have “narrative verve and a differentiated understanding of the social environment”. The Süddeutsche Zeitung judges that some of his novels belong to literature, and: “Molsner lets his investigators make imaginary landscapes, in which everything seems to correspond to everyday images, quite unintentionally, from a crime-related point of view, while being accurate and exciting, and shows everything hides behind them. It's as entertaining as it is informative. "

Even Time sees "something beyond the traditional boundaries of the genre in the crime of Molsner. With his novels he represents the farthest point of the detective novel from the throwaway product, not narrative works like Böll's 'Katharina Blum' below. "Even Eugen Drewermann writes about the black factor :" The best kind of demanding and captivating entertainment I can think of. "

In October 1995, Der Spiegel wrote : “Among the authors of the early years, the trained journalist Michael Molsner proved himself in the long run as the one with the greatest narrative range and the most differentiated understanding of the social conditions and consequences of crime. The example shows his 1973 published thriller, Red Mass'. The sociogram a small town in which the fear of the student movement and the immigrant workers leads to two murders "The Schweizer Monatshefte called Molsner Molsner alongside Maj Sjöwall / Per Wahlöö and Leonardo Sciascia , Dashiell Hammett , James M. Cain and Horace McCoy for "educational entertainment and entertaining education".

The Marler Zeitung writes about his most recent novel ( You saw me , Münster 2011) : “A mature achievement, which is also wonderfully entertaining with this complexity ... The reader remains ... agitated, amazed and happy.” About the church thriller (2015) the newspapers of Medienhaus Bauer (Marl) note: “Christians (...) will read this novel with great interest and big eyes. You will experience your church anew: as an apparatus that cleverly, quickly and extremely effectively represents interests (...) Indeed a novel that could convey a completely new view of the church in the new year 2016 - because it is well researched ".

On September 5, 2012, the literature section of the six newspapers of Medienhaus Bauer, Marl announced the premiere of the play Dr. Faustus meets Phil Marlowe in Los Angeles from Molsner, who is coordinating the staged reading . “An experiment because of that,” wrote the newspaper, “because the speakers are largely lay people”.
