Michael Sis (born January 9, 1960 in Mount Holly , New Jersey ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Angelo .

Life

Sis graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana with a degree in philosophy , which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1982. In 1985 he completed a degree in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome with a further bachelor's degree and in 1990 a degree in moral theology at the Accademia Alfonsiana , also in Rome, with a licentiate .

Michael Sis received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Austin on July 19, 1986 through Bishop John Edward McCarthy .

On December 12, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of San Angelo . The Archbishop of San Antonio , Gustavo García-Siller MSpS , ordained him episcopal on January 27 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Old Bishop of San Angelo, Michael David Pfeifer OMI , and the Bishop of Austin, Joe Steve Vásquez .
