Michaela Balatková (born April 24, 1985 in Jablonec nad Nisou ) is a Czech biathlete .

Michaela Balatková lives in Albrechtice v Jizerských horách . She starts for SG Jablonec and is trained by Karel Soukal. She began biathlon in 2000, and a year later she was promoted to the national team of the Czech Republic. Her first international appearances were in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2003 in Forni Avoltri , where she was ninth in the sprint, 12th in the pursuit race, 14th in the mass start and with Tereza Hlavsová and Klára Moravcová as the starting runners of the relay won the bronze medal. The first important use in winter was participation in the 2004 Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne . Balatková won the sprint title ahead of Marion Blondeau and Irina Moschewitina , in the pursuit she fell behind Moschewitina and won the silver medal. She just missed another medal in fourth place with the relay. Only in the individual was she placed weaker with 21st place. At the 2004 European Junior Biathlon Championships in Minsk , the performance of the Czech was mixed. She finished 22nd individually, tenth in the sprint, and 13th in the pursuit. With Hlavsová and Moravcová she won the bronze medal in the relay race. In 2005 she took part in the Junior World Championships again in Kontiolahti . Balatková was 27th in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, 25th in the pursuit and 15th in the relay race. Later in the year she took part in the 2005 Summer Biathlon World Championships for Juniors in Muonio , where she was fourth in the sprint, sixth in the pursuit and fifth in the mass start and thus narrowly missed a medal three times. This she won with Hlavsová, Pavla Matyášová and Balatková with bronze finally in the relay race. Further assignments followed at the Junior World Championships in Presque Isle and at the European Junior Biathlon Championships in Langdorf . Balatková reached 32nd place in the individual, 26th in the sprint, 28th in the pursuit and eight in the relay race at the world championships. At the European Championships, positions 14 in the individual, 22 in the sprint, 24 in the pursuit and seven in the relay competition were added. The last event among the juniors was the 2006 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Ufa . In the sprint, Balatková reached eighth place, then she was fifth in the pursuit and missed a medal in fourth place with the relay.

For women, the 2007 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Tyssowez became the first international championship. With Matyášová, Luboš Schorný and Pavel Suchánek , she won bronze with the Czech mixed relay. A little later, Balatková also took part in the 2007 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Otepää , where the Czech competed in cross-country competitions. She finished 17th in the sprint and 19th in the mass start race.
