Klára Moravcová (born March 19, 1983 in Ústí nad Orlicí ) is a Czech biathlete and cross-country skier .

Klára Moravcová lives and trains in Letohrad . The student starts for SKP Jymbolx Jablonec and is trained by Jiří Holubec . She started biathlon in 1994 and has been a member of the Czech national team since 2000. She had her first international assignments of importance at the 2001 European Biathlon Championships in Haute-Maurienne , where she took part in the junior competitions. In the individual she ran to 20th place, was 14th in sprint and pursuit and won the silver medal with Magda Rezlerová and Zdeňka Vejnarová behind the Russian representation. A little later she also took part in the Junior World Championships for the first time in Khanty-Mansiysk , where she finished seventh in the sprint, dropped back to 21st place in the pursuit race and also won silver here with Rezlerová and Vejnarová as the final runners of the relay behind Russia. At the Junior World Championships in Ridnaun in 2002 she was 33rd in the individual, 51st in the sprint race and seventh in the relay. The junior biathlon championships in 2002 went better in Kontiolahti , where she missed the bronze medal in fourth place in the sprint by just eight tenths of a second against Barbara Ertl . In the pursuit race she fell back to 20th place and was also 18th in the individual. Since 2002, she has also regularly participated in the junior races of the Biathlon European Cup and has been among the top ten on several occasions. This was followed by the third participation in the Junior World Championships for Moravcová. In Kościelisko she was 42nd in the individual, 35th in the sprint, 28th in the pursuit and won the relay bronze with Rezlerová and Lenka Votocková. Shortly afterwards she also took part in her third continental title competition at the 2003 European Junior Biathlon Championships in Forni Avoltri . In the singles she finished 19th, was 23rd in the sprint and 25th in the pursuit. With Rezlerová and Michaela Stránská she also won the bronze medal in the relay race at the EM. In the same place, the Czech competed in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships in 2003 , where she won the bronze medal behind Lyudmila Kalintschyk and Switlana Krikontschuk in the sprint, finished tenth in the pursuit race and finished eleventh in the mass start. In Haute Maurienne Moravcová started at their fourth and last Junior World Championships. In the individual she reached the 16th place, was 24th of the sprint, 20th of the pursuit and missed another World Championship medal in the relay with Zuzana Tryznová and Michaela Balatková in fourth place. At the Junior European Championships in Minsk Moravcová finished 13th in the individual, was fifth in the sprint, 15th in the pursuit and won the bronze medal in the sprint race with Tereza Hlavsová and Balatková. The last major event among the juniors was the 2004 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie , where the Czech was 14th in the sprint, 23rd in the pursuit race and 20th in the mass start race.

Moravcová has been competing in the European Cup since the 2004/05 season . She contested her first race at the start of the season in Geilo and was 38th of an individual. She won first points a few weeks later as 24th of an individual in Obertilliach . She achieved her best result so far in this racing series as ninth place in an individual in Cesana San Sicario . It is also her only result among the top ten so far. The first major event was the 2005 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Muonio . Moravcová finished tenth in the sprint and mass start in Finland, was eleventh in the pursuit and won the bronze medal in the relay race with Hlavsová, Pavla Matyášová and Balatková. A few weeks earlier she started at the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2005 in Bystřice pod Hostýnem , where she won bronze in the mixed relay race with Matyášová, Jaroslav Soukup and Michal Šlesingr . In 2006 the Czech competed in the biathlon world cup for the first time in Oberhof and finished 77th in a sprint race. In addition, she was 12th with the relay of the Czech Republic. The highlight of the season was the 2006 European Biathlon Championships in Langdorf , where she was 58th in the individual, 57th in the sprint and 13th in the relay race with the selection of the Czech Republic.

Since 2006 Moravcová has devoted more and more to cross-country skiing. She initially ran in low-class races such as the Alpencup , the Slavic Cup , the Marathon Cup and in FIS races. Before her first use in the cross-country skiing world cup , she won an FIS race, a race in the Slavic Cup and in 2008 the Biela Stopa over 48 km freestyle. She contested her first World Cup race in Liberec , where she was 58th in a 7.6-kilometer freestyle race. The Czech competed in the same place at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009 , where she finished 45th in the 30-kilometer mass start freestyle race. A month later she won bronze at the Czech Championships in Horní Mísečky in the 10-kilometer freestyle . A year later she repeated this success on the classic course in Harrachov and also came third in the 5-kilometer freestyle. She finished the 2008/09 season in first place in the overall Slavic Cup standings. In the following years she won the Biela Stopa (2011 and 2012) and the Koasalauf (2012 and 2013) over 50 km freestyle. Her best results at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 45th place in the 30 km mass start race and tenth place in the relay. In the 2014/15 season she won the Biela Stopa, the Šumavský Skimaraton over 46 km classic and the Skadi Loppet over 42 km classic. In the 2015/16 season she came third at the Bieg Piastów and the Engadin Skimarathon , and at the end of the season she finished third in the overall ranking of the Worldloppet Cup . So far, she has eight wins in the Slavic Cup (as of the end of the 2015/16 season)
