Lyudmila Kalintschyk ( Belarusian Людміла Георгіеўна Калінчык ; born July 23, 1982 in Baryssau ) is a former Belarusian biathlete .

Lyudmila Kalintschyk has been practicing biathlon since 1994. The Dynamo Baryssau athlete is trained by Yevgeny Permiyakov. The sports teacher and studied child psychologist has been a member of the Belarusian national team since 2004.

Athletic career

Kalintschyk initially competed at various junior world and European championships between 2000 and 2003. In Zakopane was 2000 EM fifth in singles, 2001 in Khanty-Mansiysk Season-fourth at the World Cup a year later in Ridnaun Fifth. At the Junior European Championships in Kontiolahti in 2002, she was able to win the bronze medal with the relay. In 2003 she was in Kościelisko again fifth with the relay. The junior world championships in summer biathlon in Forni Avoltri were particularly successful for her , where she became the junior sprint world champion.

Kalintschyk also made her debut in the European Cup in 2003 in Forni Avoltri. There she was 13th in the sprint. She made her World Cup debut in 2003 in Hochfilzen . As 59th in the sprint, she was able to qualify for the pursuit in the first race. From now on, Kalintschyk switched again and again between the World and European Cup.

In the summer of 2004 she first appeared at the Senior World Championships in Osrblie in the summer biathlon and won relay gold with Wolha Nasarawa , Swetlana Dirko and Kazjaryna Iwanowa . She first took part in the World Championships in winter biathlon in 2007 in Antholz . Here she was used in sprint (55th) and pursuit (47th).

Kalintschyk won his first World Cup points at the 2006/07 season finale in Khanty-Mansiysk. In the sprint, Kalintschyk was 27th and 30th in the pursuit. At the 2007 Universiade in Turin , she won relay gold with Nadseja Skardsina and Lyudmila Ananka . From the 2007/08 season the Belarusian established herself in the World Cup, but initially without celebrating any successes worth mentioning. Now and then she reached the bottom of the points. At the Biathlon World Championships in 2008 in Östersund , rank 30 was the best result in the individual next to fifth place in the relay.

In Pyeongchang , Kalintschyk just missed a medal in fourth place with the relay.
