Lyudmila Ananka

Lyudmila Arkadsjeuna Ananka ( Belarusian Людміла Аркадзьеўна Ананька ; born April 19, 1982 in Nawahrudak ) is a Belarusian biathlete .

Lyudmila Ananka made her international debut at the European Championships in Zakopane in 2000 . With the relay she won the silver medal here, in the sprint she was fifth. In the same year, she narrowly missed a medal at the Junior World Championships in Hochfilzen as fourth with the relay. In the following year she started again at the European Championships in Haute-Maurienne and the Junior World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk. In the latter, she won bronze in the pursuit and was fourth with the season. The Junior World Championships in Ridnaun in 2002 were also successful , where they won bronze in the sprint and took fifth place in the pursuit and in the relay. The highlight of the season should be participation in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . But she couldn't finish her race over 15 kilometers. After all, the European Championships in Kontiolahti were more successful for Ananka. She won silver in the singles, bronze in the relay and after a 17th place in the sprint in the pursuit, she still ran to fourth place. She was then to make her debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Lahti and on Holmenkollen in Oslo , but could not compete on both occasions.

In the following 2002/03 season, she first made her debut in the European Cup. After good performances in Obertilliach , sixth places in the individual and in the sprint, she also made her World Cup debut in Ruhpolding . Here she was used in the women's (6th) and mixed relay (4th). At the Junior World Championships in Kościelisko , she was able to win a title for the first time in 2003, the sprint. There was also bronze in singles. At the Holmenkollen she then ran into second place in the World Cup relay and made her debut in the individual (38th). Finally, she also took part in the European Championships in Forni Avoltri , where she won silver in sprint, pursuit and with the relay. The high point of the season was the 2003 Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, where they finished fourth in the season.

From the 2003/04 season Ananka was part of the Belarusian World Cup squad. However, she was only able to score points for the first time at the end of the season on Holmenkollen as 15th in the sprint. It should remain her best place in a single race to this day. At the European Championships in Minsk in 2004 she was able to win silver again with the team. The 2004/05 season did not go well except for a couple of decent relay races. She was only able to achieve her best results at the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen as 20th in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit. With the relay she won the world championship bronze. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , she took part in the sprint (42nd) and in the pursuit, which she did not finish. The 2006/07 season was mixed. In addition to good results such as a 16th place in the Kontiolahti sprint , there were also results such as an 87th place in the Hochfilzen sprint. After all, she was able to show a few good performances at the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz . Here she was 16th in the singles and fifth in the relay.

Ananka also runs summer biathlon . Here she took part in the World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk for the first time in 2000 . She finished fourth in the sprint, fifth in the pursuit, and won silver in the relay. In 2003 in Forni Avoltri, she won gold in the relay and was fifth in the pursuit.
