Luboš Schorný (born March 11, 1975 ) is a Czech biathlete in the sub-discipline cross-country running - summer biathlon .

Luboš Schorný from St. Město p. L. first took part in a major international event at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2000 in Khanty-Mansiysk and was 29th in the sprint, 19th in the pursuit and fifth with the relay. Three years later in Forni Avoltri , the Czech was able to achieve similar results with 17th places in the sprint and pursuit, 19th place in the mass start and fifth place in the relay. In 2004 Schorný was able to run into the top ten for the first time as tenth in the mass start. 15th in the sprint and 21st in the pursuit. He narrowly missed a medal in the relay race together with Petr Garabík , Jaroslav Soukup and Zdeněk Vítek in fourth place. The 2007 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Otepää were less successful , where he was 28th in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit. Schorný achieved far better results at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne , where he achieved single-digit results for the first time as eighth in the sprint and fifth in the pursuit. The 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Germany, were again less successful for the Czech . Schorný finished 23rd in the sprint and 20th in the pursuit race.

Schorný celebrated his greatest successes at the European Summer Biathlon Championships . In 2006 he won the bronze medal in the mixed relay race in Cēsis with Pavla Matyásová , Zdeňka Vejnarová and Jaroslav Soukup . With Matyásová, Michaela Balatková and Pavel Shuchánek , Schorný was able to repeat this success in 2007 in Tysowets . Things went even better in Bansko in 2008 , where he won silver behind the Russians together with Barbora Tomešová , Matyásová and Petr Balcar . Also in 2009 in Nové Město na Moravě he was able to win a mixed relay medal, now with Tomešová, Vejnarová and Soukup bronze. He also achieved 19th place in the sprint and tenth in the mass start. 2010 in Osrblie a 20th place in the sprint, a 16th place in the pursuit and fourth place with the mixed relay. In the following year Schorný reached 15th place in the sprint, was tenth in the pursuit and won with Pavla Schorná (formerly Matyásová), Eva Puskarčíková and Václav Bitala once more mixed relay bronze.
