Michel Mulloy

Michel Mulloy (born May 20, 1954 in Mobridge , South Dakota ) is an American clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic Bishop of Duluth .

Life

Michel Mulloy attended Beadle and Freeman Davis Elementary School in Mobridge and Mobridge High School and O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls . He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in Winona and at the seminary in Saint Paul . Mulloy received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Sioux Falls on June 8, 1979 .

After his ordination, Michel Mulloy first worked as parish vicar at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the diocese of Rapid City , before he became parish vicar of the parish of Christ the King in Sioux Falls in 1981 . In 1983 he became the parish administrator of the parish of Saint Joseph in Faith .

After Mulloy was incardinated in the clergy of the Rapid City diocese , he was pastor of the parish of Saint Joseph in Faith from 1986 . From 1989 to 1992 he was pastor of the parish of Saint Francis of Assisi in Sturgis . In 1996, Mulloy became pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Rapid City . From 2004 to 2016, Michel Mulloy was pastor of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City before becoming pastor of the parishes of Saint Bernard in McLaughlin , Assumption in Kenel , Saint Aloysius in Bullhead and Saint Bede in Wakpala . From 2017 he was responsible for vocational pastoral care as well as vicar general and member of the college of consultors of the Rapid City diocese. In 2019, Michel Mulloy became diocesan administrator of the Rapid City diocese.

On June 19, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Duluth.
