The Ministry of Justice and equality of Saxony-Anhalt (MJ) is a national ministry of Saxony-Anhalt . The seat is at Domplatz 2-4 in Magdeburg .
The ministry is headed by Minister Anne-Marie Keding ( CDU ).
history
After the Second World War, there were initially no ministries. In the "Provincial Administration of Saxony" formed in 1945, a vice-president was responsible for justice. In 1946 a Ministry of the Interior was founded, which existed until the state was dissolved in 1952.
With the re-establishment of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, the Ministry of Justice was re-established. In 1994 it was briefly called the Ministry of Justice and Federal Affairs . It has had its current name since 2011.
Building the Ministry
The ministry is divided into the following departments:
- Department 1: Personnel, budget and organizational matters, information and communication technology
- Department 2: Civil Law and Public Law
- Department 3: Prison, Infrastructure Matters
- Department 4: Criminal Law, Justice Social Service, Victim Counseling, Internal Service, Education and Training
In the Ministry of Justice and Equality of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, the State Judicial Examinations Office and the control center for women and equality policy are also located.
