Mirlene Picin studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas . She has been competing internationally since 2008 . In Obertilliach she finished 70th in an individual. She won first points later in the season as 24th of an individual in Osrblie . In Bansko she was able to improve with a pursuer up to her best performance in the racing series, a 15th place. She started in August 2010 at the Biathlon South American Championships in Portillo and Bariloche . In the championship, which was held as a racing series, Picin was third in the individual behind Claudia Salcedo and Silvia Herrera , in Portillo , she won the sprint and mass start ahead of these two. In the sprint in Bariloche, she finished second behind Herrera. In the overall standings, which included only three races, she finished second behind Salcedo, making her vice South American champion.
In cross-country skiing, Picin started internationally in FIS races in December 2008 and subsequently also competed in other lower-class races such as the Slavic Cup , the Alpine Cup and the Balkan Cup . In 2010 she won an FIS race over 5 km freestyle in Kruševo . The first major event was the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , where the Brazilian finished 91st in the freestyle sprint and was unable to finish the race as a distant runner in the 30-kilometer freestyle mass start. Also in 2011 at Holmenkollen in Oslo she took part in the World Championships and was 65th in the 10-kilometer classic, 51st in the 30-kilometer freestyle mass start and was distanced in the skiathlon race . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Fiemme Valley , she finished 94th over 10 km freestyle. In February 2017, she won 94th place in the sprint at the 2017 Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti .
