This was followed by an internship with the German composer Dieter Schöhnbach, as well as studying composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama , which he graduated from the Berklee College of Music .
Back in Israel Segal was able to assert himself as a composer for rock, pop and jazz. A few pieces by him have been played by the Israeli Philharmonic and the Israeli Chamber Ensemble . He then moved to New York City , where he worked for Columbia Records and RCA Records with musicians such as Luther Vandross , Maynard Ferguson , Phyllis Hyman and Nancy Wilson . When he signed a new contract with Motown , he moved to Los Angeles , where he also composed film music for the first time.
