action
Mary Class is a career woman with her own marketing company and Santa's daughter . When her father suffers a heart attack just before Christmas , she immediately travels to the North Pole to visit him. Her assistant Donna accompanies her and is very surprised when, at the end of the trip, she finds herself in Santa's headquarters, which seems to be completely the opposite of the clear structures that she is used to from her boss's company.
Mary's parents are very happy to see their daughter again after four years and Santa Claus is convinced that he will be fit again by Christmas. Mary and her mother see it differently and want him to allow himself the necessary rest. Mary is enjoying time off from her company and is determined to replace her father this Christmas. First of all, she wants to restructure the chaotic way the elves work. Head pixie Gary is supposed to give her a production report every day and she organizes meetings with the elves and tries to teach them about modern market research. But the elves just “tick” differently and don't understand what Mary actually wants from them. They remain as playful and childish as they used to be. In addition, in their opinion, they waste far too much time on trivial matters. Even when Mary practices slipping through the fireplace, they see it as just a game. Instead of working continuously, they constantly take cookie breaks and cannot cope with the fact that their usual manual work should be done by machines.
The tough business woman has to understand that she is in danger of failing because of the rather cozy corporate culture at the North Pole. So there is a fight with her father and even the reindeer don't want to fly for her. Only her childhood friend Luke Jessup is building her up and she is about to fall in love with him again. But suddenly friend Grant Foley turns up at her parents' house, who had no idea who Mary actually is. When he finds out, he wants to turn the whole Christmas village into a business idea and market the idyll. They argue about it and when Grant finds "his" Mary in Luke's arms, he leaves without further ado, but is determined to present his new marketing idea to his business partners.
Although Mary's innovations fail completely and it is uncertain whether enough toys will be made by Christmas, her father encourages her not to give up and to believe in herself and Christmas. With Luke's help, she travels after Grant with the reindeer sleigh and prevents Grant from implementing his plan. In doing so, she saved the Christmas city from marketing and is now optimistic about bringing the gifts to people that they have ordered from Santa Claus using their wish lists.
