Christmas in Handcuffs (Original title: Holiday in Handcuffs ) is an American Christmas comedy . It was produced in 2007 for the ABC Family television program "25 Days of Christmas" .

The ambitious but unsuccessful painter Gertrude Marie Chandler, known by everyone as "Trudie", works as a waitress in a restaurant. It's not going to be easy for her this Christmas. First she screwed up an interview that her father had arranged for her because she was late and then her boyfriend Nick broke up with her. Too bad she wanted to introduce him to her family on the holidays. She kidnapped a customer of the restaurant named David Martin, who wanted to meet his fiancé, renamed him Nick and tied him up in the car first with a rope, later with handcuffs, which she received from a helpful gas station attendant who thought that both would experience a very special Christmas.
She introduces him to her parents as Nick and after a few attempts to free himself from his predicament, David decides to play along. The intact family world of the Chandlers, however, is not as peaceful as one might assume. Mr. and Mrs. Chandler are at odds, Grandma Dolores like to nibble on eggnog , Trudies brother Jake Chandler has for some time gay and her sister Katie Chandler has thrown her studies to training as a Pilates to complete -Trainerin. David builds Trudie up to survive the Christmas days, and the two get closer. When the mood threatened to change on Christmas Eve, he even made her a marriage proposal. Just as everything is turning out for the better, the police storm the house. Jessica, David's fiancée, had let them look for them. David refrains from reporting, but goes back to his fiancée.
On Valentine's Day , Trudie has the opportunity to exhibit one of her pictures. The whole family is traveling for this occasion and everyone celebrates Trudie's triumph. Your picture will even be sold. At the end of the evening David “kidnaps” Trudie and shows her his new gallery, in which he wants to exhibit her picture. He broke off his engagement to Jessica and the two become a couple.
