The Mittelbach is a right tributary of the Werre in the northeast of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

The water has a total length of 8.2 kilometers. The catchment area stretches over part of the northern Lipper Mountains and the southeastern Ravensberger Mulde between Werre and Weser . The body of water rises in the northeast of Exter an der Steinegge, not far from the source of the salts . It then flows northwards, touches the Park of Magical Waters at km 1.9 (site of the Bad Oeynhausen / Löhne 2000 state horticultural show , now Aqua Magica ), and flows into the Werre at Bad Oeynhausen , which it only crosses around 200 meters (river kilometer 4.9).

The water flows through the following communities on its way from the source to the mouth:

On its way, the water includes the following waters when viewed downstream:

environment

Site plan of the nature reserve

The 34.1  hectares large nature reserve Mittelbach in the city Vlotho at Exter is reported since 1998 and protects the Ravensberger Land so typical natural Sieksystem about two kilometers of river length of the middle stream. The Siek is only slightly branched but has a pronounced box profile with high profile edges. The wet grassland of the Siekgrund is partly overgrown by beech forests and alder trees. Sedge and rushes, as well as groundwort , can also be found on particularly moist sections . The Nebensieke are also home to fruit trees.
