Mlađen Šljivančanin ( Serbian - Cyrillic Млађен Шљиванчанин ; born July 1, 1985 in Belgrade , SR Serbia ) is a Serbian basketball player who was German champion in 2006 with RheinEnergie Cologne and a cup winner in 2007 .
Šljivančanin was considered a great talent in his youth and went through all the youth teams in his home country. In 2001 he became European champion with Yugoslavia's U16 team. In 2004 he moved abroad and played for the Opel Skyliners from Frankfurt in the German basketball league . With the defending champion at the time, he lost the final of the German championship against GHP Bamberg in 2005 and gained his first experience in the ULEB Euroleague . In the following season, he dissolved his contract with the Skyliners in February 2006 and moved to the league competitor from Cologne , who was trained by his compatriot Saša Obradović . With RheinEnergie he again managed to get into the final series of the German championship, which ended victoriously against the main round first Alba Berlin . In the following season, you were eliminated as the defending champion in the semifinals against the surprise team of the play-offs of the basketball Bundesliga season 2006/07 Artland Dragons , but could instead win the cup against the same opponent in the final. Then the main sponsor of the Cologne team got out and Šljivančanin returned to Red Star in his hometown. After one season, he moved to the Russian Super League in Samara in 2008 . He began the following season in 2009 in Limassol , Cyprus , before moving to the French LNB Pro B in April 2010 . The following season he returned to the Cypriot league and played for Keravnos Strovolou in Nicosia .
Since March 2012 he has been playing in his home country again, first with Radnički in his native Belgrade and for the following season with KK Borac from Čačak .

Šljivančanin's father is the convicted war criminal Veselin Šljivančanin , who was convicted by the UN War Crimes Tribunal for Yugoslavia , among other things, for his involvement in the Vukovar massacre .
