Mohamed Bangura (2014)

Mohamed Bangura (born July 27, 1989 in Freetown ) is a Sierra Leonean football player . The striker is under contract with Dalian Yifang .

Career

Career start in home country and breakthrough in Sweden

Bangura began his adult career in 2005 with Kallon FC in his hometown. There he developed into a dangerous striker, which culminated in his first appointment for the Sierra Leonean national team in early 2010 . A short time later he moved to Europe and joined the Swedish third division IFK Värnamo in Division 1 on loan . In the team supervised by Jonas Thern , he was quickly one of the top performers and in the first half of the third division season 2010 was one of the guarantees that the club established itself at the top of the table.

As a regular goalscorer, Bangura had attracted high class attention. In July of that year he moved within Sweden to AIK in the first-class Allsvenskan and signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the club from Solna until the end of 2013. First, he made his debut on July 24 as a substitute for Pontus Engblom in the 0-1 away defeat against Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan, before he played four days later in the qualifying for the Champions League 2010/11 against the Norwegian representative Rosenborg BK at the side from Goran Ljubojević , Robert Åhman-Persson , Daniel Tjernström and Nils-Eric Johansson started for the first time. For the club in relegation battle, he subsequently proved useful as a goalscorer: After scoring his first two goals in the league in the 2-1 win against IF Brommapojkarna in early August, he was crowned top scorer with a total of six goals this season. The club remained in the league as eleventh.

At the beginning of the following season, Bangura formed the storm duo of AIK together with his compatriot Ibrahim Teteh Bangura , where on the one hand he was still dangerous for goals, but on the other hand he appeared in particular as a template for the strike partner. After he left the club for Turkey, he formed the attack of the Stockholm club with the Ghanaian Kwame Karikari .

Years of traveling in Scotland, Sweden and Turkey

On August 30, 2011, Bangura signed a four-year contract with Celtic Glasgow . Under coach Neil Lennon , however, he played only a minor role and played - after he had nine appearances in the regular part of the 2011/12 season of the Scottish Premier League, usually as a substitute - in the championship finals only one game than the club The lead over city rivals Glasgow Rangers increased to 20 points and won the 43rd Scottish Championship in the club's history. Also at the beginning of the following season he was only a substitute player when he was substituted on on the fourth day of the away game at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a 4-0 lead.

Shortly before the end of the summer transfer period , Bangura therefore moved back to AIK on loan until the end of the Allsvenskan season in 2012 to support the club in the battle for the championship. He then returned to Scotland, but did not prevail again and this time was awarded for a full season to IF Elfsborg also in the Allsvenskan. With six goals this season, he did not meet the expectations of management, the club refrained from signing the player beyond the loan.

In the spring of 2014 Bangura moved to the Turkish TFF 1st Lig to Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor , but left the club again in the summer. After an injury he was initially without a club.

Return to Sweden

Bangura returned to Sweden in the fall of 2014, where he kept fit during his rehabilitation in the amateur area at Huddinge IF . In November he took part in training at his former club AIK and was signed at the beginning of December with a contract that was valid until the end of 2016 with the option of an extension of one season.
