Robert Hans Folke Åhman-Persson (born March 26, 1987 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish football player . The defender and midfielder has played his career in Sweden and Denmark so far.

Career

Åhman-Persson played for Bälinge IF in his youth . In 2003 he moved to the youth department of the Solna club AIK . On the last day of the 2004 season he made his debut in the Allsvenskan when he was substituted on in the 75th minute of the 3-1 away win at Trelleborgs FF . In the same year he won the championship title with the youth team, but due to illness he missed the final. In the following season he was still part of the squad of the competition team, but played only six games in the Superettan . Nevertheless, he contributed two goals to the direct resurgence of the team around Mats Rubarth , Daniel Tjernström , Daniel Hoch , Daniel Örlund and Göran Marklund and was considered in the Swedish U-18 selection. In order to allow him further match practice, the club awarded him in 2006. After he had started the year for the AIK in the Royal League , he ran in the subsequent second division season 2006 for Väsby United and was a regular for much of the season.

Returning to AIK in early 2007, Åhman-Persson fought for a regular place on the defensive. Under coach Rikard Norling , he started three games in the first half of the season and played another five games as a substitute. Meanwhile active for the Swedish U-21 national team , he had attracted attention abroad. In July of that year he left AIK and moved - despite offers from Swedish clubs such as GAIS and IF Elfsborg - to the Danish club Viborg FF , which was looked after by his Swedish compatriot Anders Linderoth . At the side of John Alvbåge , Steffen Højer , Rúrik Gíslason and Simon Nagel , he established himself as a regular in the super league . However, the team was in danger of relegation, so Stephen Lowe and later Hans Eklund took over as coach. After missing relegation Åhman-Persson returned to Sweden.

Åhman-Persson joined Malmö FF in the summer of 2008 and signed a contract with the club from Skåne until the end of 2011. He immediately fought for a regular place on the club's defense. While his former club AIK celebrated the championship title at the end of the 2009 season, he reached seventh place in the table after 26 season appearances with his club. Under coach Roland Nilsson he was one of the regulars at the beginning of the following season and scored three goals in the first half of the season. So it came as a surprise when he announced his move from the championship candidate Malmö FF back to the relegation battle AIK in the summer. After 13 season games for AIK until the end of the season, he had two reasons to celebrate: On the one hand, he managed to stay up with AIK, on the other hand, thanks to his nine league games up to the summer transfer period for Malmö FF, he was honored as champion. At the presentation of the excellent players, however, he was whistled by the Malmö supporters. In the following season he was runner-up with his new club behind triple winner Helsingborgs IF , before he lost his regular place in the 2012 season under coach Andreas Alm and played only 16 season games. After he was mainly only a substitute player in the following season and was only in one of his eight season games in the starting lineup, his expiring contract was not extended.

In December 2013, the first division promoted Örebro SK Åhman-Persson signed free of charge. He missed the season opener due to injury.
