Mohen Leo

Mohen Leo (* before 1992 in Berlin , Germany ) is a special effects artist who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2017 .

Life

Leo grew up in Berlin and studied physics and computer science at the Technical University of Berlin from 1992 . During his studies, he changed his main subject to industrial design and graduated in 1995.

In 1996 he started working for Industrial Light & Magic as a technical manager and animator of effects. In 2002 he switched to Esc Entertainment to work on feature films such as Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions . Since 2009 he has been working as a VFX supervisor in the studio of Industrial Light & Magic in Singapore .

At the 2017 Academy Awards , along with John Knoll , Hal Hickel and Neil Corbould, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story .

Mohen Leo currently lives in London.
