Montchauvet is a former French commune of 380 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017), the Montcalvétiens , in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy .

On January 1, 2016, Montchauvet was incorporated into the new municipality of Souleuvre en Bocage as a district as part of a regional reform together with 19 neighboring municipalities, which like Montchauvet all belonged to the disbanded municipal association Bény-Bocage .

Montchauvet is about 17 kilometers northwest of Vire-Normandie .
