The Mormon Church is a house of worship of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Böcklinstrasse 55 in the 2nd district of Leopoldstadt in  Vienna .

Mormon Church in Böcklinstrasse

It was built from 1960 to 1963 according to the plans of the architect Werner Schröfl . It was the first church of the community after the first two Mormon missionaries from Idaho (USA) came to Vienna in 1949 and Mormonism had received state recognition in Austria in 1955 . Initially, the growing community was looking for a house that they wanted to convert, but decided to purchase the property in Böcklinstrasse to build a new building. It was dedicated on November 5, 1961 during a visit by President Henry D. Moyle, although the building was not yet completed.

Except for one tower, the church cannot be recognized as a sacred building. The simple assembly hall is equipped with a Walcker organ.

Böcklinstrasse 55 is the official seat of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austria.

Mormon Church Silbergasse

The Mormon Church in Silbergasse

There is another Mormon church in Silbergasse in the 19th district of Döbling in Vienna . The white-painted church with a simple concrete architecture was built around 1975. This simplicity and brightness also comes into play inside: the ballroom, lecture hall and group rooms are bright and simple in their functionality. The only room that stands out a little is the one with the baptismal font in light blue mosaic.
