Mullewapp - The Friends' Big Cinema Adventure is a German-Italian-French computer animation film from 2009 . It is based on the children's books by the writer Helme Heine .

action

After the mouse Johnny failed attempts to make a career as an actor , she comes to the Mullewapp farm , where she entertains the other animals with stories about their alleged adventures. One day the sheep cloud is kidnapped by the Wolf Maitre Wolf. A fox that Maitre beat up because he didn't want to come to the wolf's birthday party for fear of being eaten says that Maitre Wolke wants to eat a roast lamb on his birthday. The rooster Franz and the pig Waldemar start a rescue operation. Johnny, who everyone considers a great hero because of his stories, is forced to take part in the action.

To the horror of the water-shy Waldemar, Maitre lives on an island. But when they set off for the shore on their bikes and there is an accident, Waldemar ends up in a boat with which they set off for the island. Meanwhile, Maitre Wolf puts cloud in chains and she involuntarily witnesses his everyday life. Maitre, an enthusiastic cook, lives with his servant, an old billy goat , in a splendid villa on the island. He kidnaps songbirds for fun and locks them in a cage so that they can entertain him with their song while they eat.

However, when Johnny arrives at the Wolf's villa, he becomes scared. He confesses to Franz and Waldemar that his stories were only made up and leaves them. The two now knock on Maitre's door without him. The wolf welcomes you warmly and invites you into the house as his guests. But when he found recipes for roosters and pigs in his cookbook, he stuck them in a cloud in the saucepan to eat them as a three-course birthday menu. After Johnny has seen how the wolf is preparing his friends, he takes heart: he rings the doorbell and, while fighting the wolf, pushes into the kitchen, where he knocks over the saucepan and frees his friends. Together they tie up Maitre and also free the songbirds. However, the hungry wolf breaks free and chases them to the shore. There, Franz begins to fly and carries the others across the water by his feet. Maitre follows them in their boat. But when it sinks because of a leak, he drowns.

In the evening, the entire farm celebrates the return of Wolke and the three friends. Although he is really a hero now, Johnny does not feel well and wants to go, but Franz and Waldemar follow him on their bike and persuade him to stay.

reception

“Child-friendly, colorfully presented and at times very exciting cartoon adventure about friendship and sincerity. Helme Heine's 'classic' picture book characters suffer clearly from the much rougher cinema dash, but the film still entertains its target group with humor and happiness. "
