The Municipio Concepción is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Concepción is one of the six Municipios of the Province of Ñuflo de Chávez . It borders in the north on the Beni department , in the west on the province of Guarayos , in the west on the municipality San Javier , in the southwest on the municipality San Julián , in the south on the municipality Cuatro Cañadas , in the southeast on the municipality San Antonio de Lomerío , and in the east to the province of José Miguel de Velasco .

The municipality lies between about 13 ° 38 'and 17 ° 06' south latitude and 61 ° 28 'and 62 ° 35' west longitude, its extent in north-south direction is up to 390 kilometers and in east-west direction up to to 130 kilometers.

The central place of the district is the small town of Concepción with 5,586 inhabitants ( 2001 ) in the southern part of the municipality.

The municipality of Concepción is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the Chiquitanía region , a landscape between Santa Cruz and the Brazilian border that is still sparsely populated in large regions .

The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm tropics .
