The municipality of San Julián is a district in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of San Julián is one of the six municipalities in the province of Ñuflo de Chávez . It is bordered to the north by the province of Guarayos , to the west by the province of Obispo Santistevan , to the southwest by the province of Ignacio Warnes , to the southeast by the municipality of Cuatro Cañadas , to the east by the municipality of Concepción , and to the northeast by the municipality of San Ramón and the Municipio of San Javier .

The municipality lies between about 16 ° 30 'and 17 ° 12' south latitude and 62 ° 19 'and 63 ° 28' west longitude, its extent in north-south direction is up to 75 kilometers and in east-west direction up to to 80 kilometers.

The central place of the district is the middle town of San Julián with 20,687 inhabitants ( 2001 ) in the central part of the municipality.

The municipality of San Julián is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the Chiquitanía region , a colonization area between Santa Cruz and the Brazilian border.

The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm subtropics .
