The municipality of Puerto Pérez is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Puerto Pérez is one of four municipalities in the province of Los Andes and is located in the northwestern part of the province. It is bordered by Lake Titicaca to the northwest , the Municipio Pucarani to the west and south , and the Municipio Batallas to the east .

The municipality has 42 localities ( localidades ), the administrative seat of the municipality is Puerto Pérez with 578 inhabitants in the northern part of the municipality. ( 2012 census )

geography

The municipality of Puerto Pérez is located at a mean altitude of 3850  m southeast of Lake Titicaca on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.

The mean annual temperature of the region is 8 ° C, the annual precipitation is 500–600 mm (see climate diagram El Alto). The region has a distinct daytime climate, the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly between 7 ° C in July and 11 ° C in December. The monthly precipitation is between less than 10 mm in the months of June and July and close to 100 mm from December to February.
