The municipality of San José de Chiquitos is a district in the Santa Cruz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of San José de Chiquitos is one of three municipalities in the province of Chiquitos and includes its central area. It borders the province of José Miguel de Velasco to the north, the municipality of Pailón to the west, the province of Cordillera to the south, the municipality of Roboré to the southwest , and the province of Ángel Sandoval to the east .

The municipality extends between about 17 ° 00 'and 18 ° 30' south latitude and 59 ° 15 'and 61 ° 40' west longitude, its extension from west to east is up to 250 kilometers, from north to south up to 160 kilometers .
