In the same year the Juilliard School opened the course Historical Performance Practice and Özdemir joined as a baroque bassoonist. Thus, Musicasequence was founded within the Juilliard School in New York.

Today the ensemble consists of twenty soloists from various countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Australia, China, Japan and Korea. The ensemble plays on historical instruments from the 18th century and has a repertoire from the Renaissance to New Music .
