IC 3239 is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Irr in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 30 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 10,000 light years in diameter. Under catalog number VCC 620 , it is considered a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4313 , NGC 4330 , IC 3209 , IC 3261 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
