IC 3238 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 567 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light-years across. The galaxy is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VVC 617, but it is too far away for that. In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4298 , NGC 4302 , NGC 4377 , IC 3244 .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
